Smith’s Disposal has been serving Northern Oakland County residents since 1981. Originally Powell’s Disposal, Leonard Smith bought the company and Smith’s Disposal was born. Mr. Smith then sold his first company, Clarkston Fuel & Supply, so he could devote all his time to his new endeavor. Almost 3 decades later, his ‘new endeavor’ is still going strong. After retiring in 1997, Mr. Smith handed control of the company to his children, Ken Smith and Carol Evans. They ran the company together for over 10 years until Ken decided to retire. Ms. Evans decided against retirement and bought her brother’s shares making her full owner and President of Smith’s Disposal.
Our company is operated on the principal that our customers are not just customers, they are neighbors. We believe that by serving our neighbors, rather than just picking up some garbage, we can develop lasting relationships that benefit everyone. Our drivers and loaders know a large number of our customers by name. We take pride in that. Again, you are our neighbors, not account numbers.
Customer service, reliability, accountability, and community involvement are the cornerstones of those relationships. We do our jobs well, on time, every week. We clean up after ourselves. We do our best to accommodate special requests. We stay up to date on emerging environmental concerns and technologies that help address those concerns. We strive to give you the most comprehensive solid waste service we can at a very competitive price.
If you are in need of a garbage hauler, please, give us an opportunity to serve you. We will do for you what we have been doing for our customers since 1981, everything we can.
